Cool stuff

There’s so much awesome things happening in the tarot world at the moment that I’m just about to explode. Because I’m too busy (lazy) I’ll just post here all the Stuff that I can remember, in no particular order. This post will most likely be edited many times, so if you’d like to see something here that’s not included, please let me know. NB: some of these haven’t been published yet

Here we go:

“In these 2 volumes Enrique gathers fresh voices and sharp tongues to speak of the art of Tarot as the art of living magically. Forty-seven tarot luminaries (readers, historians, philosophers, magicians, and scientists alike) gather here to offer unique perspectives on what we can think of as divination with bones, human bones.”

Oswald Wirth, Introduction Mary K. Greer: Tarot of the Magicians
“Long unavailable, the book is back in print in a beautiful new package with full-color pull-out cards reproducing Wirth’s 1889 tarot deck. With a new introduction by bestselling tarot author Mary K. Greer, Tarot of the Magicians offers tarot enthusiasts and students of the occult an in-depth and authoritative analysis of one of the most beautiful and evocative of all modern tarot decks.”

Marcus Katz & Tali Goodwin: Learning Lenormand – Traditional Fortune Telling for Modern Life
“The Lenormand deck is a traditional French fortune-telling deck dating back to about 1850. It uses thirty-six cards, each with a symbolic image. This is the first comprehensive English workbook that explains its history, how to choose a deck, and how to use it for both fortune-telling and personal insight.”

Marcus Katz & Tali Goodwin: Tarot Face to Face – Using the Cards in Your Everyday Life
“Master the tarot cards with essential skills and methods for insightful readings in everyday situations!
Are you ready to come face to face with the tarot deck and develop your unique reading style? This comprehensive guidebook is a fun, practical, and easy-to-follow tool with everything you need to become a confident and accurate reader.”

Carrie Paris & Roz Foster: The Lenormand Revolution
“The Lenormand Revolution is a deck, iOS app and ebook with interpretations and study guide by Carrie Paris, card designs by Roz Foster, and is developed by
This limited edition Lenormand Revolution deck alludes to 18th century European and New World unrest, touching on the culmination of these turbulent times: the American and French Revolutions. With a nod to Mademoiselle Lenormand herself, each card features a French title with an English translation. The deck’s breathtaking images follow the traditional feel and clarity of the The Game of Hope, after which le petit jeu de Lenormand is said to have been originally fashioned.” NB: both the 1st and the 2nd edition are now sold out.. but hopefully there’ll be a 3rd at some point!

Dan Donche: Darkana Tarot Deck
“The Darkana Tarot Deck combines a modern grunge style with non-traditional tarot symbolism. Every image is personally designed by me, the creator of the Inappropriate Tarot Readings phenomenon; this deck is everything I want to convey. Contains all 78 tarot cards.”

Robert M. Place: The Tarot of the Sevenfold Mystery
“From the designer of the Alchemical Tarot, a new deck that combines Place’s insights into the mystic origins of the Tarot with the romantic beauty of his art.
I started on The Tarot of the Sevenfold Mystery because of my love of the 19th century Pre-Raphaelite paintings of Edward Burne-Jones, with their melancholy, otherworldly settings, peopled by tall, pale, stunningly beautiful women and equally memorable heroic men. Burne-Jones and the Pre-Raphaelites believed that art was a spiritual or magical endeavor and toward this end they formed a mystical brotherhood of English artists dedicated to recapturing the sincerity of the art of the early Renaissance-the same period that gave us the Tarot. Burne-Jones was one of the most prominent artists in this movement and it was the work of these artists and mystics that created the fertile soil in which the Golden Dawn took root.”

Robert M. Place: Alchemy and the Tarot
“The updated companion to all editions of the Alchemical Tarot, with an examination of the historic connection between alchemy and the Tarot. The book includes a history of alchemy, a history of the Tarot’s major and minor suits, an examination of the Tarot’s symbolism, a discussion of each card in The Alchemical Tarot with detailed explanations of the alchemical symbols, and a discussion of divinatory techniques.”

Alexander Daniloff: Tarot by Alexander Daniloff
“I have always been fascinated by the symbolism and medieval emblematic, iconography of miniatures and frescoes. The Tarot for me has been a reason to immerse myself in a medieval atmosphere, crawl between the nobles and the miserable, oscillate between the Moon and the Sun, between Life and Death.”

Rachel Pollack: The New Tarot Handbook
“This book will teach you the meanings of the cards and enable you to begin doing compelling readings right away. More seasoned readers will find that this basic reference has a richness and depth that will call you back again and again to discover your own truth within the cards.”

Marcus Katz, Tali Goodwin, Ciro Marchetti, Steph Myriel Es-Tragon & the Trustees of the British Museum: The Original Lenormand 3rd Edition
“An authentic reproduction of the original “Game of Hope”, dating from 1800, housed in the British Museum. This deck is the prototype of all Petit Lenormand decks and the earliest original set known. We are presently making available copies (3rd edition) with antiquated blank backs. These are closer to the “carboard” colour of the originals and do not have the green tinge of the first edition. These will be sold until we have reached our licensed amount and then we will not reprint until next year (2013).”

Katrina Wynne: An Introduction to Transformative Tarot Counseling – the High Art of Reading
“[An Introduction to Transformative Tarot Counseling] combines the deep potential for change in a reading with the techniques and ethics utilized to support the client. This introductory book presents Tarot readers with professional guidance to begin exploring ways that enrich the reading experience for both the reader and querent. The magic of transformation and the steps involved are described, then applied to the elements in a Tarot reading. The first and second printings of this book are sold out. The NEW, expanded version of this book, with an additional chapter containing sample readings, is now available.”

Ciro Marchetti: The Gilded Reverie Lenormand Deck
“The Gilded Reverie Deck is temporarily out of stock, the first two production quantities sold out. We are currently assembling a third and final quantity, which should be ready by the end of Decemeber. There are many “Lenormand” decks already available, many are reproductions of the earlier works of this genre, along with an increasing number of contemporary decks that have used pre-existing artwork and imagery from the past in creative new ways while still evoking the feel, mood and spirit of those older illustrative styles. However this deck is not one of them. It’s very much one of personal illustrative style to create original images in which I have taken some artistic liberties.”
